ThePhase 22 Shipping pack provides temperature stability when shipping reptiles and amphibians. These packs are designed to automatically go through two phases, a "warm" phase and a "cool" phase dependant on the ambient temperature. Keeping your package at a steady 22C (71.6 F)!
When temperatures drop below 72 F a chemical reaction turns the packs material into a liquid that provides heat, and when the temperature rises above 72 F the pack solidifies to bring down the temperature in order to protect your package.
Provides thermal protection when shipping products between 15-30°C
When used as liquid, keeps contents warm
When used as solid, protects contents from heat
It is recommended that you use a minimum of 2 packs per box when shipping live animals.
Cryopak Phase 22 packs are designed to maintain a stable temperature range of 22°C (71.6°F) for temperature-sensitive items during shipping. They can be used in both warm and cold weather, but the instructions for use differ. In warm weather, the pack should be cooled down to a solid state and placed between gel and ice packs. In cold weather, the pack should be warmed to a liquid state and placed between a heat pack and the item being shipped.
Detailed Instructions:
Warm Weather:
1. Cool the pack: Submerge the Phase 22 pack in cold water or place it in a freezer until it becomes solid and opaque.
2. Position the pack: Place the solid Phase 22 pack between some packing paper and the item being shipped.
Cold Weather:
1. Warm the pack: Soak the Phase 22 pack in warm water until it becomes liquid and clear.
2. Position the pack: Place the liquid Phase 22 pack between the heat pack and the item being shipped.
General Tips:
Avoid direct contact:
Ensure the Phase 22 pack does not directly contact the item being shipped, especially if it's a live animal or plant.
Use with other cooling/warming elements:
The Phase 22 pack can be used in conjunction with ice packs, heat packs, and other insulation materials to further regulate temperature.
Consider shipping delays:
In regions with unpredictable weather, especially during peak shipping times (like Black Friday or Cyber Monday), it's wise to factor in extra shipping time and potentially use a heat pack that can accommodate delays.
Check for leaks:
While rare, some users have reported minor leaks from the seams of Phase 22 packs. To be safe, consider placing the pack inside a sturdy ziplock bag before incorporating it into the shipping container.
